TIP OF THE WEEK
GOING TO NET IN SINGLES
Playing singles is great exercise and also takes good tactics and strategy
to win your points. One of the faults that seem to happen is people going
to net at the wrong time. Never go to the net when hitting from the middle
of the court to the middle of the court on the other side. If you do then
3 things will happen. Your opponent will lob you, pass you or hit a cross
court winner. It’s strongly advisable to go to net when you have your
opponent running for a wide ball or they have to make at least 4 steps sideways
for a ball. Good tactics and strategy will get you to the net soon enough.
Be patient and wait for the right time. Learn how to implement patterns of
play. This means to learn how to setup the point for the end result which
is the winning point.
Have a great day on the tennis court.
